What is Social42?

Social42 is a website where people can rate, review, and comment on other people as well as businesses. Ratings are submitted by people and summarized into a Social Credit Score to change the injustice in the world. Social42 is a Better Business Bureau for reviewing people.

Why did you create Social42?

In a world where physical technologies (computers, mobile phones, the Internet) are rapidly outpacing social technologies (formal education, politics, interpersonal skills), we wondered if there was much utility left in 'the cutting edge'. Social networking sites offered us little more than 'keeping in touch'. Social42 offers the chance to make things right. To hold others accountable. To give credit where it's long overdue. To review politicians, heads of corporations, corporations, celebrities, athletes, local businesses, bosses, customers, co-workers, waitresses, loved ones, neighbors, and strangers. Everyone.

What is a Social Credit Score?

A Social Credit Score (SCS) is a number calculated based on reviews submitted by others. Reviews can be unsealed, sealed, and anonymously submitted. Individuals and businesses have different ratings which affect their social credit score. Individuals have a personal and professional rating. Business have a single business rating.

  • Unsealed: unsealed reviews have the most public exposure and carry the most weight towards a social credit score. The unsealed review aims to correctly represent an individual’s real-life views towards someone or some business. This encourages people to "stand by their words".
  • Sealed: sealed reviews have moderate weight towards a social credit score. The sealed review only identifies the individual's name, but no details of the review are disclosed.
  • Anonymous: anonymous reviews have the least weight towards a social credit score. No details are provided.
